Holiday


Ate breakfast before swimming lessons 
Jay was a boy that we play with.
Swimming lessons was a week.
Brother annoys me with new toy.
K.F.C for dinner.
The beach was cold.
Climb the sofa.
Luk was a pain in the neck.
Unlucky with weather in Conway. 
Drove to Conway.
Mountain climbing was canceled.
Versing Jay and my brother the board game.
English lesson was hard.
No one wants to go to the supermarket except for mum.
Water fight was fun.
Friday I went to see a movie.
Outside to play with boys.
X-box was fun.
Gardening was hard.
Piano lessons was difficult.
Yelled to my brother.
Holiday program was boring.
Quickly run to car.
Zoo is a place that I wanted to go to.
Ice skating was so fun
Raining all day.

Technology

Did you know that technology is taking over your brains? They basically are mind controlling us to play those games like Candy Crush and Pokemon Go and all those addictive games.  They can be so boring but since you get so addicted to it you find it so much fun. 
 
They can also be so irritating like when you  get a text on your phone and it won't stop going baling baling baling baling or beep beep, or when you make an alarm and when it starts beeping you accidentally push snooze and it goes off 5 minutes later!

Technology is also changing stories well sometimes anyway here's an example

Anyway when you are addicted to a game your social skills fade.  For example my brother got a new game that he played so much that when I asked him to play Lego with me, he was already playing but in the virtual way.

Addiction can be caused by the noises in the game like in candy crush when you break a lolly and it makes a man goes “sweet” using a convincing voice which makes you want to play more.

I guess you could argue that devices can be useful as they can contact people and help you with many things like math, spelling, history and much more.
Technology is used in so many ways and one of them is teaching. Like when your teacher gives you a maths video to watch on YouTube and you've probably heard of those game like sumdog, khan academy, eako math and study ladder and there is much more of those games.  But having a real life teacher is better because you and ask them questions, and distract them and end up having to do way less work!

Well so I believe that I have made it pretty clear that technology is taking over our brains, and soon the world. I think when robots become as intelligent as human they will take us over.  I suggested we join together and gather up all of the devices and throw them all away.  We get back to basics and reclaim our brains!  

Now I have convinced you, I need to get back to my favourite pastime… playing on my xbox and my iphone.  Oh wait… um. Change of plan you can go back to your device.

Discovery time term 3

Today at discovery time I Made a clay sculpture the sculpture it is a duck with a possum hat on hammer and stubby feet it's  called the boss. 

A struggle was having to came up with an idea because what I made was a lot of small ideas put together to make one big idea.

I had a growth mindset by putting my small ideas into one big idea.

Spotlight

Have you ever thought that a game could be as gruesome and blood filled as this game?  Get ready for a blood filled story of woe.

It was a dark and not stormy but a star filled night. We all thought it was going to be a safe night game but was it? They explained the rules “OK the aim of the game is to get to the other side without being caught by us. We will be standing on the playground  tower with torches if you get spotted go back to the start” said Yann.

 So we all ran to the start and , “Go” Kiri yelled out. Everyone went straight for the chairs some were slowly going, others were going in groups, but I just went from chair to chair very fast.  I made it to the tree that was so close to the playground that it was basically guarding it. Then out of nowhere Jay zoomed past like a cheater and that made me feel like it was my turn, so I ran as fast as a rabbit running from death. 

 I made it! I was SECOND! AND THEN THE NEXT ROUND I CAME FIRST AND TODD CAME SECOND AND THE THIRD ROUND I CAME THIRD AND TODD CAME FIRST! If it was the olympics I would have got a silver a gold and a bronze medal for terror spotlight, well that's what I like to call it.

We all went inside for supper and first aid.  It was like a hospital that hand out free hot chocolate. Overall I came second I won one of the rounds and got warm hot chocolate. Maybe it wasn't terror filled night except for Todd's foot,lulu’s and Megan's leg and so on. 

Writing reflection
I used a simile when I said “Jay ran past me like cheater instead of saying” “he ran past me.”

I am improving in spelling and describing which helps me write a lot better. 

I need try hard on putting pieces of writing into paragraphs because it makes it easier to read.

Show time performance

The start when when your heart beat like a drum. 
The crowd explodes with laughter.
Bright lights shine on me.
Volcanoes of clapping erupted in the crowd 
Dark video cameras stork us as we pronounce around the stage.
Beautiful costumes bloom with colour.
Dancing actors sing with pride.
The end when you want to do it again because enjoyed it so much.

Discovery time term 2

Discovery time reflection 

Today I used my time to be host and video the egg helmets dropped off the playground tower. 
Someone I admired was John because his egg helmet landed weirdly but still survived.
I  Stretched my learning by not just leaving the video but editing it with iMovie so the parts when they drop the egg is in slow motion.
A struggled was videoing because I was afraid I would drop it off the playground.
Next time I will not to get too involved because I have steps half way though.

Term 1 reflection


During term one we have played beat games and been learning pumanawatanga also we Idefined beat. We have been taught by experts (eg Jono). we have created a day performance that we performed at the end of the year.

I am at relational because I can identify many contexts (eg haka and lion dance) and I understand the purpose of beat to keep it going and have a good pulse in the class and I am able to reflect on my role and make improvements. I enjoyed learning beat because it was fun and I learnt so much from it. 

A struggle was learning to read notes because the only  instrument I learnt was recorder which was a long time ago.
